Neoclassical in origin, the No 1014 Georgian knob features a restrained design suitable for contemporary or traditional interiors. A single cavetto molding rings both the rose, with attenuated curve, and domed face. The knob may be provided in 2”, 2-1/4”, 2-1/2”, and 3” diameters for doors, and the No 8014 cabinet knob is available in 3/4”, 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, and 1-3/4” diameters. Backplates for cabinet knobs are available upon request at an additional cost. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches and tubular latches may be provided for use with this knob. Recommended finishes include polished, burnished or antique brass as well as dark oxidized bronze. All NANZ plated and patinated finishes are available, as are alternative rose designs.

Nº 1017

While generally employed in the most public areas of recent projects, the No 1017 comes from the most functional of all designs. Often referred to as back of house, this knob found its origins in service areas and equipment rooms. Its companion lever, the No 2017, has a similar pedigree. The design of the No 1017 knob, dating to the early 20th Century, eliminates surface ornament and emphasizes the functional properties of the handle. A slight step joins the handle to the straight shank, which is met by a round-edged rose with three exposed screws. The resulting design is both classic and modern. The knob has a diameter of 2-1/4″ with a projection of 2-1/8”. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches and tubular latches may be provided for use with this knob. The handle is available in all NANZ finishes and may be paired with a variety of exposed-screw rose designs. A selection of related products is also available.

Designed in our Soho studio, this handle is available for use as passage, privacy, or entry hardware, as well as for use as a fixed dummy pull. The handle may be modified for use as cabinetry hardware as well. Available in all standard plated and patinated finishes.

Nº 1018

A client once said, “If you looked up the word doorknob in the dictionary, you would see a picture of the No 1018.” The No 1018 round knob is an early 20th-century adaptation of an 18th-century Georgian design. The simplistic and classic proportions make the knob suitable for contemporary as well as traditional interiors. A polished finish emphasizes the simplicity of the knob, while a patinated finish highlights the molding details of the shank and rose. This handle is frequently specified with alternate backplates, especially roped or beaded versions, to give the knob a more ornate appearance. A cabinet version, the No 8018, is also available in smaller diameters. Backplates for cabinet knobs are available upon request at an additional cost. The No 1018H round knob, a hand-hammered version is an 18th Century design. The simplicity of the well-proportioned design allows the knob to be used in contemporary as well as traditional interiors. Available finishes include antique nickel, satin nickel, antique brass and dark oxidized bronze, as well as a myriad of other NANZ plated and patinated finishes. Peening is an art that was popularized during the Arts and Crafts movement but dates to the 18th Century. A cabinet version, the No 8018H, is also available in smaller sizes. Backplates for cabinet knobs may be provided upon request at an additional cost. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches, as well as tubular latches may be provided for use with this knob. The No 1019 traditional elliptical knob rests on a shank with a shallow cove profile that reverses the curve of the edge of the knob. The rose, with an ovolo molding around the edge, has three exposed screws. A backplate with hidden fasteners and various levels of adornment including roping and beading is also available. A cabinet version, the No 8019, is also available. All NANZ finishes are available.

The No 1019BV beveled elliptical knob brings a modern design to one of Nanz’s most classic products. The bevel that travels around the body of the knob creates a gracefully tapering and flaring band. The knob’s edge reverses the curve of the shank to create a graceful, aesthetic proportion. The simplicity of the cove rose compliments the arc of the shank. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches, as well as tubular latches may be provided for use with this knob. All NANZ finishes are available.

The No 1019F faceted elliptical knob brings a modern, geometric design to one of Nanz’s most classic products. Nº 1019H

The No 1019H traditional elliptical knob, of the 1019 family, pairs a traditional elliptical knob with custom hand hammering, an art that was popularized during the Arts and Crafts movement. The rose, circumscribed by an ovolo molding displays exposed fasteners. The knob may be provided in all NANZ finishes.

Nº 1020

The Nº 1020 handle forms a slightly compressed sphere which flattens on the underside and meets with a simple cylindrical shank and rose. The knob is available in all NANZ finishes. The straightforward design is appropriate for a variety of interiors and can be paired with a number of rose designs.

Nº 1020G

Fine crystal handles gained popularity in the late 19th century and have since been a symbol of refinement and elegance in the home. The No 1020G crystal knob is a modern interpretation of the classical crystal knob, however it is hand cast and polished using the same manufacturing techniques used in the 1880s.
