The No 1175 octagonal pyramid knob is both an expression of reduced geometrical form and decorative ornament. The eight shallow light-reflecting facets resemble the underside of a cut gem. The rose also has a pitched face, though shallower than that of the knob, and is conical rather than faceted. It can be substituted with a variety of alternative rose designs. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches, as well as tubular latches can be provided for use with this knob. Finishes available include polished nickel, polished brass, burnished brass and antique brass, as well as all other NANZ plated and patinated finishes. The knob measures 2″ across with a projection of 2-5/8”.
The No 1180 oval knob, cast with an interwoven monogram against a stippled background, was originally produced in the early 20th century. The face can be cast with any initials desired in any style of script. The knob measures 2-5/8″ x 1-1/2″ with a projection of 2-3/8”. The No 1187 knob was designed for a private New York club in the earlier 20th century. Five grooves extend over the edge, radiating from a sunken button-shaped disk. The straight shank flares at the lower end where it meets the shallow ogival rose. The knob measures 2-1/4″ in diameter with a projection of 2-3/4”. Appropriate finishes include antique brass, dark oxidized bronze, and burnished brass.
