The design of No 1687 spherical knob, originating in the late 19th century, avoids historical references showing a proto-functionalism which anticipates modern movements in America and Europe, such as the Bauhaus. The clean form of the handle makes it suitable for both contemporary and traditional interiors, while giving it a polished finish emphasizes the simplicity of the knob. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches, as well as tubular latches can be provided for use with this knob. All NANZ plated and patinated finishes are available.finishes.

The No 1745 embellishes the cylindrical Bauhaus design with slender bands around the circumference of the knob, adding a visual complexity to the otherwise minimalist form.
