The lion head of the No 9703 door knocker has appeared as a motif since the Roman era. Lion heads grasping rings in their jaws served as handles on bronze containers, and were also applied to other surfaces for purely decorative effect. Our finely modeled and cold worked lion grasps a ring striker with foliate reeds. All Nanz plated and patinated finishes are available.
