The hard, dense wood of the No 1315 round, turned African Blackwood knob has an appeal which is both tactile and visual. Wooden knobs were produced in the 19th century, often in rosewood or maple, to add to the decorative effect of a room, though they lost favor as Modernism took hold in the 20th century. This knob combines the sumptuousness of its 19th-century predecessors with the clean lines of modern design. Full mortise entry locks, privacy locks, passage latches, as well as tubular latches can be provided for use with this knob.
